The Cwm Taf Morgannwg Safeguarding Board has recently approved a Protocol for the Management of Cases of Serious Self-Neglect, which sits alongside the Multi-Agency Staff Guidance for Working with People who Self-Neglect.

Four online awareness sessions were held during September to help practitioners and their managers throughout Cwm Taf Morgannwg understand the new guidance and how it is to be used prior to its official implementation date on October 4th.
The sessions covered:
- What self-neglect is, the indicators and causes
- Working with people who self-neglect
- Assessment of risk and capacity
- Practice tools
- The new Self-Neglect Partnership Panel and how to refer to it.
