Case Studies Needed For a VAWDASV Communications Campaign

The Welsh Goverment is due to launch their new Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence communications campaign within the next few weeks, and are looking for case studies of either;

  1. Women or girls who have been harasses in public
  2. Men that have actively challenged other males on their behaviour

This will be used for social media purposes, on our website and potentially by media/press once the campaign launches. Case studies in either Welsh or English would be appreciated.

Some considerations; How they were harassed? How it made them feel? Did any happen? Did they tell anyone? (and why not) could anyone have done anything to help?

Campaign objectives

To raise awareness of stalking, harassment, abuse and violence against women in the street, workplace, online as well as in the home and how these are constituted/defined.

To help bystanders, and our communities, particularly males to call out inappropriate behaviours and offer support, this includes men being empowered to engage with other men and boys to call out abusive and sexist behaviour, including spiking, among their friends, colleagues and communities to promote a culture of equality and respect. Wales will not be a Bystander to violence and abuse.

The Call to Action will offer information and advice on how men can change their behaviour and signpost to the most appropriate services.
