Self-Neglect Awareness Sessions

 The Cwm Taf Morgannwg Safeguarding Board has recently approved a Protocol for the Management of Cases of Serious Self-Neglect, which sits alongside the Multi-Agency Staff Guidance for Working with People who Self-Neglect.

Online awareness sessions (via Teams) have been arranged to help practitioners and their managers throughout Cwm Taf Morgannwg understand the new guidance and how it is to be used prior to its official implementation date on October 4th.

The sessions will cover:

  • What self-neglect is, the indicators and causes
  • Working with people who self-neglect
  • Assessment of risk and capacity
  • Practice tools
  • The new Self-Neglect Partnership Panel and how to refer to it

If you work with people who self-neglect, please register to attend one of the sessions which are taking place on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, 8th September – 11am until 12pm - Register here
  • Wednesday, 15th September - 11am until 12pm - Register here
  • Wednesday, 22nd September - 11am until 12pm - Register here
  • Tuesday, 28th September - 11am until 12pm - Register here
